Hi guys, anyone know off hand if the channel readout and ribbon cable are the same or swappable between the 139xlr and a 89xlr 40 channel am base ? Tia 73
No . . . they are not interchangeable. The 89Xlr channel selector has a different configuration on the LED readout side, and one extra connection on the ribbon cable side.
Sorry.
The 139XLR is a sideband radio. The 89XLR is AM only. The PLL arithmetic is nearly always different from AM to a SSB radio. For Uniden, anyway. That's who built those two radios.
And that's what has to match from one radio to the next to swap channel selectors.
