    Midland 79-265 no transmit

To start with, make sure it's not on PA mode, then do you have another microphone to check with? 1 broken or disconnected wire on the mike can cause that. I am going on memory here but (can someone confirm) I believe Pin one is audio, pin 2 is ground, pin 3 is receive and pin 4 is transmit on...

The bulldog rises from the ashes

Add another $419 and you got it. I think the original one was around $250 or so from One Stop Electronics. Larry @DXman used to have on. Maybe? I randomly found this last night and remembered that recently someone had asked about them. Carl used to use that round military surplus meter...

This doesn't address the problem of not knowing what radio, what amp, what drive power he is using. We need more information. You can keep repeating the coax will fix it without knowing what is going on with the OP's situation but unless he answers the questions it just a guess. 73 Jeff

If he is putting too much drive into the amp putting several feet of coax inline is going to do nothing to solve the problem. We need more information. 73 Jeff

    11 meter is very quiet?

Was it Shane? 1-800-Toll Free lives in the Virgin Islands now, not too many people running stations there. If you hear conditions from there again, try calling for him. 73 Jeff

    Palomar 300A refresh. Assume nothing.

Just my thoughts If I had to choose, it would be the 300a over the 350z I have ran both in the past, the 350z is a Hot rod. In more ways than one, it tended to eat tubes and never made as much power as the 300a. (Back to your regularly secluded programing) 73 Jeff

    11 meter is very quiet?

Yes But It was interesting this morning, there were local people on several channels within about a 60 mile radius of me that I have not heard in a long time. 511, then Cowboy down in the valley, Bones over in Fresno, couple guys wheeling over by Shaver lake and several drivers on both 17 and...
