you can get at the pll but its encased with epoxy

Are there any mods for these radios that have the pll encased in black epoxy? Someone has one and wants extra channels. here is a picture of the pll in black epoxy, has anyone attempted to do extra channels or has some info on doing this. thanks

I know you can do the pll upd858 mod for extra channels. I see there was an expo Kit Q for the radio. I'm trying to find what that kit did. Was it toggle switch kit Was it an Expo 100 Kit with crystals if so what was the frequencies of the kit? thanks

Yes for the older 29s but I guess to reference the older 29s to the newer FM 29s. Will be interesting if the newer FM 29 can be modded for channels, time will tell

So I have been doing some searching and reading. See picture posted on the 4 slot programmable oscillator. From what I read on the board it will be good for Am but not SSB or FM as you will not be able to vari/open the voicelock/clarifier to slide. Says it will not, but maybe can be used on ssb...
