Ok here we go. Just upgraded to a Mean Well 50 amp power supply. Works fantastic. Now when I turn the radio off and then back on memory is lost and display shows 24000 Mhz. So what gives? Is there a battery that saves the memory from the last time the radio was turned on? If there is no battery...
Have a 2006 model RCI 2995 DX Power Supply is bad and going to put in a HP 75 amp PSU. What is the max voltage these radios can handle? Mine has the Toshiba 2290's in it. I just need a idea on what to set the power supply voltage to. Thanks for any suggestions.
ok did a little work on the 2995 DX. In the photo you can clearly see the black wire going to the positive terminal on the speaker. Don't know why the wires are reversed. Put a 100uf 16v cap across the terminals and it did help some. It's just temporary right now. Might try and go with a 150uf...
ok buddy, thanks so much for your time. going to tackle this in a little while, also going to put in a on/off switch for the rear amp and also tune that L8 for a little better recieve. 73
yeah sounds legit, I'm going to take a stab at this weekend, with adjusting L8. The white noise on SSB on my 2995 DX is terrible sounding. Wish I could get it to sound more like my Cobra 2000.
BC I bought it used 2 weeks ago from Doc's CB shop in Florida. It's a 2008 model. It's in very clean condition. The receiver is super noisy on SSB with high pitch white noise. Switching from AM to SSB the sound doesn't change much. Doesn't look like any components have been changed out ever. But...
