I ordered one from Barkett that says it's the right replacement part for the 2990 Volume Switch . It says : "Potentiometer 50KA / RF Power DX22/2517 RCI-2990 Replacement" ... did I order the wrong part ?? It looked like the right part.

The AF Gain has been acting up in my 2990, it's been losing contact and cutting out. So today I took it apart and closely examined the AF Gain/Squelch/Clarifier board ... no cold solder joints. So I sprayed out each potentiometer multiple times with contact cleaner. Then put it all back together...

Originally it was my grandmother's radio , and she bought it new. But since she had someone put the extra channels in it for her (which I wouldn't have done to it), I'm not sure enough about it to say no to your question .... lol. But I wondered about myself, so I'll be checking it. Thanks

So here's a quick update on this topic . I got an electrolytic capacitor kit for the Cobra 2000 GTL, and I have been going through replacing each capacitor . I'm now down to just 10 left to replace , so I'll let you know how everything goes with my Cobra 2000 once I'm done with it .

Hi everyone , I recently got a good working Kenwood SM-220 Station Monitor , but it doesn't have any of it's probes anything like that with it . I was just wondering if anyone here knew what style of cables it uses ... and where you can buy them at so I can start using it ? Thanks
