i have not had any of the antenna mentioned but by what i understand the gain master will match or better your maco...probably the latter if the gainmaster is high and out of the way of obstructions ...if its not it may just match it
Its maybe just me but if i was contemplating putting a antenna that big/long on my truck i'd go for the better performing, lighter , much cheaper and less air drag but a bit longer full 1/4 wave

well thats what i was thinking .. i was researching chokes...thats way i started the ugly-balun-choke thread ..well posting the info i had found as i think it may be useful
my logic was, if the RF cannot "see" for want of a better word the feeder then surely the TOA will return to model 3...
if i get V4K i will not be using choke ....i was researching choke as if i make the 5/8 wave with 5/8 swept radels as you modeled... number 3 was good until you added the feed line in model 4, so i thinking a choke might put the TOA back to where it was in model 3
(the models are in this...
They all very good...so i read, i have not used them ...it depends what you want/need which is best for you the i max has a very very wide bandwidth and i believe it handels a good bit of power, heard of folk putting more than 1kw.. The SPT500 will handle the most power the gain master the...
thats very useful.......i think this should make the sticky list
Interesting to note at first look it seems it not to make to much difference what coaxe is used as 5 turns of RG 58 is very close to 5 turns of RG213 both on a 4.24 inch air former
i find this ..think it may be useful so posted it
Any comments if the choke was only going to be used on 11 meters .. length of coax etc

model number 3 with isolated mast looks very good with 5.9 dbi of gain and a 9 degrees toa but it all goes to pot with model 4 when the feedline is added .... i dont know if a choke will help and get it back to model 3
i just check the gain of the i10k and its 3.6dbi but i dont know the...
Reading page 4 again although he models at 45 degrees but hes say the gain increases until approx 20 degrees when its starts to fall of, so maybe 25 degrees is optermon ....id be interested if you did a model with radials at 25 degrees
Back to the i10k with sloping radials i find this A comparison of 10 meter verticals using modeling
it seams optimum angel is 20 degrees for the radials
What's he mean on page 5 "dual 5/8 collinear"......is a collinear when you have sort of 2 vertical antenna in phase ?????
i guess a salt mash will be best
I think i have good ground as its flat, it was marsh land before it was all drained maybe 75 to 200 years ago, the 7 acer of land i am on is heavy clay with rich top soil laid to grass and not very well drained (read need Wellington in winter)
But 15 mials...
