Quick answer is no. Long answer is lower any cap to ground or open for more treble(highs) and increase any cap inline for bass(lows).

Not worth the effort, the change is so minute its barely noticeable. This has been discussed before a lot. One of those recurring topics that happen every new wave of people. 4558's purpose is to take mic level audio to line level for the modulator section

I know of a few places selling copies of the SP1a. Lou Franklins CB Int speech compressor is totally different animal. Sp1a contains a compander and CB Int is a series of opamp stages with a feedback loop setup like a clipper. I have both and choose he SP1a for how clean it sounds.
