    It's been a few years, but we used to get Craftsman tools warrentied at ACE, drop the tool off, they would make a claim and in a couple days a replacement would ship to the store. A couple were not exact replacement tools because they no longer make some older styles but they were a 'equivalent'...

    Actually...... I have 3 UV5R radios at the moment. I have one programmed for local public works, Sheriff, CalFire, Medical and my wife likes to use it to monitor those , along with the FM radio. The other 2 have GMRS, FRS and some local stuff programed, I live in a tourist town and we get lots...

    I know someone who mounted a full 5/8 ground plane in the back of a Ford pickup truck and blasted down the desert highway at 100 mph just to prove that the antenna would handle it but, wow ,120 mph gusts is just insane. I lost a PDL II in a thunderstorm one spring with gusts reported to 85 mph...
