I listened to the audio in the first post,... it sounds too regular to be arcing @ an insulator.
It really sounds like the tapping type noise that spark plugs/ignitions make, except it is constant.
edit..... Listened again,...it's an insulator arcing,... and its pretty loud.
I bet it changes...
How does a lower (power?) reading on a FSM result in a lower (SWR) reading on the fsm?
The FSM doesn't generate any power , it (and everything past it) is a load
you are adjusting the impedance that the transmitter "sees".
If you're gonna do a video, at least have the correct slug for the meter.

Yeah, I was wondering why the schematic specified 50 Ohms at the feedpoint ... and never mentioned coax, LL, ect.
Antenna is pretty simple to build. (and once it gets a little warmer outside ) to experiment with.
