Most of the morning just noise and some faint signals.
Then as I was going to store and post office suddenly 1732 comes up with a strong signal and called CQ on 38
I answer and we talked about 5 minutes
just like he was local.

My wife has this little vacuum, got it from Walmart, I don't pay much attention to it.
She said that the battery is not lasting as much anymore.
I figured it was just a pack of rechargeable cells, I will pull it out and replace it.

My wife grew up in the LA area around that time, they used to live in a high-rise on Hollywood and Vine back in the 60's.
Her brother Tony worked at the Yellow Submarine on Harper and Santa Monica Blvd before he went into the Navy.
Hollywood was a different world back then....

Just another idea, I used to use Grainger industrial supply for stuff like this.
First thing I thought of for the plastic bushing was a Dayton two bolt flanged bronze bushing.
I used to keep a current Grainger catalog on desk at work for projects like this it is full of off the shelf stuff...
I have been subscribed to the channel for a while, I get a kick out of watching some of the stuff he dismantles for science, reminds me of when I was a kid.
Had to tear everything apart to see how it works.
