well, got the replacement processor board put in and no beans! Does the exact same thing my original board was doing. I'm at a loss here. Can't find any info on this problem. Just weird to me out of all the rci 2995 dx radios out there I'm the only one having this problem.

thanks Brandon, still troubleshooting this issue with this 2995 DX. I'm pretty sure the 93LC46 EEPROM is shot. I ordered a few new ones and will get them installed on the pcb soon. I also ordered a used processor pcb so will be giving that a try also. I so need to fix this memory loss problem...
thanks but that layout is different from what I have. Towards the front of the radio there are 9 L variable inductors. That layout only shows 7. But thanks anyhow for your time.
PCB EPT360011Z Looked on google for it with no luck. This is a very early version Superstar 3900. I bought it new when I was 18 years old in 1986 Thanks for any help.
UPDATE: Problem resolved! Was a bad 1K Dynamike Potentiometer. Replaced and works like new. Bi-color LED red/green red is burnt out and will be replacing the RX/TX LED soon.
