Just got my brand new Ranger2950Dx

my thoughts are to return the kit from best buy. some of that stuff does not appear to be needed, to go from 2950dx radio all you need is 2 wires long enough to get you to the battery of the same or a thicker gauge than what the radio has. you should install 2 fuses at each of the wires right...

New Sirio 1/2 wave Gain Master

I have sent sirio an email asking if they will be producing a half wave gain master antenna. Also asked them if it will be end fed or center fed. Don't know if they will reply, but if they do I will post back. I have no reason to doubt anyone here, but my question is this: Why would sirio...

    Francis Amazer Patent info.

from reading the francis amazer patent and another discussion we had on the astro plane antenna, my thoughts are that this antenna is electrically a 1/4 wave while using their 3 or more wire wound system to improve the match. whether the performance of an electrical 1/4 wave antenna is less...

    Maco V5000 & V58 Antenna

you can make anything work for 11 meter dx.... as far as the gainmaster, you would want to treat it's outside with varnish or other protectant. i would recommend an annual inspection and treatment if needed.

    Isolating Gain Master from poles

actual recomendation is 5-6 meters away from any metal objects, sirio also says amongst other advantages, that: "Thanks to its cable coil at the base(rf-choke), gainmaster is fully decoupled from its supporting structure(poles, towers etc) with the benefit of preserving both the impedance and...

    Isolating Gain Master from poles

greetings my friend: i have asked that before, but no harm in discussing.... generally most think that there should not be interference from the mounting pole, but then again Sirio did say no metal within what 10 feet? be interesting to see what you experience, how long of a dielectric type...
