I read your post and if I am reading it right you are wanting to know how durable these mics are. I have owned one for prolly 10 years, although mine is the black model which I heard makes no difference, mine has held up quite well over the years. Nice mic and has served me well.

Well everyone tells me that RK56's sound bassy with my voice also, but I run a Turner +3 on another certain rig and you say it sounds good and you know my voice so I guess it is not a Turner thing, although I think they are more bassy than the astatic's . JMHO
