Well, im not saying that one way or the other. They tune, they work, they are safe with big watts.

Hey everyone. I was able to answer my own question through a friend of mine.
He's really old now and he's still kicking but he hasn't been building a lot. But if anybody needs his stuff he still got stuff.

I was told a story about a Cobra 29, you were able to broadcast on every channel simultaneously. It's just a goof.
Is it as simple as making the pll unlock? Will the radio still function on receive? How would one modify a Cobra 29 to do this?
People obsess about the color of their plates in the tubes. There's nothing wrong with the tube getting red it's supposed to. Its when they get white you need to worry
usually when guys lose a tube that diode pops. usually explodes actually. Ive replaced a few myself. that and a new set of tubes fixes most of them.
assuming ameritron actually soldered all the other stuff..
tbh, i never realized it was actually a dead short. I just always noticed it showed 0v. I always did it with a meter and a power strip with a nice on/off switch. quick flip, nothing, reverse leads, try again.
If you hook up two transformers out of phase you get 0v when you turn them on . Its then a simple matter to swap leads, and then label them. Alternatively, just rectify both transformers separately and combine the dc.
