I see what you mean on this one, if you look close to the black wire on the bottom end of that cap, from this angle, it shows positive...unless the original cap was inserted wrong...which could be.
On D9, I did fix that as it was clipped as you said. I guess I was just used to seeing a...
Could you tell me what component is the limiter in this radio? I think I still have some overmod as the scope shows a lot of what appears to be spiking.
Thanks
A little more digging and found this one. About as good as it gets. Has a few very minor scuffs. In the box with all the original paperwork, wired 4 pin cobra.
Like to get like $200
There doesn't seem to be many around. I have this one I just contacted 1118 in Louisiana on just this moment and got good reports. I have it hooked to a Stalker IX 80 channel, stock.
It has some blemishes, but not as bad as it looks in the pics. Mostly just some chips around the edges.
Just...
I use these plastic boxes. Of course mine are a little over filled, but someone more organized would do better. But it keeps my different components basically on the same place, and I can see what's in them, and they're easy to handle and stack. I have a couple of different brands but they all...
OK, got the switch cleared of all the extra junk, wired to the electronic figure 3. Keys up and receives, however, no audio, or at least none without a whistle and then it's very weak. New batteries tomorrow to see if that's the issue...my luck probably not.
Please, no comments on the sloppy...
Working on a M+2 Turner and it has some things I see in it that I don't know if they belong. There's a resistor (33K) from shield basically to the normally closed side of the switch, that is also connected to the capacitor to basically shield again through attachment to switch case as is the...
We ended up with a factory (repop) antenna for the 59 Apache, the Numark160 tuner or coupler so far. Add the Cobra 25LTD Classic and I think we're done.
Covers painted to match the truck as best I could...truck is faded and I'm no paint expert...but I can shack a can.:sneaky:
I need to make a...
Good eye. I didn't see it till you brought it to my attention. Will get it back together and re test. Thanks much. Always great help on this forum, that's one of the reasons I'm here every day.
This 25LTD Classic now showing 4.5 watts dead key, and swings to about 30watts according to my WM-1. Can that be right?
The Mectron I just re-capped swings to about 15 watts on the WM-1, it's probably a little earlier production than the Cobra.
I'm guessing the 25LTD Classic is maybe 1983...
Working on a 25 LTD Classic for my nephews truck. It's an older Taiwan model that has been sitting in the garage for years, his, not mine. I didn't get a pic but the speaker side of the cover had all the wax and stuff on one side that had leaked from the board. No big deal, cleaned up nicely...
22 caps replaced. The 1000uf were spot on, but most of the smaller ones were higher than normal with higher vloss and ESR according to my T7 meter. No shorted or bad caps found.OSCAR branded.
Good receive as it had, keys up to about 3.5 watts and swings to 14 watts according to my WM-1.
I didn't have the schematic so thanks for that.
As far as my skills, I can follow along fine with a service manual, some basic troubleshooting, but really have no formal training other than a basic electronics class I had in 1980...which was all book and no practical or lab...didn't really...
