Alinco DX-SR8T & Ameritron 811 Linear

I have purchased a linear to add to my shack. I need to know how to connect the 811 to my Alinco Base. I have a footswitch that keys the Alinco. I could simply add a “Y” and have it key the radio and amp? There is verbiage about some kind of An ALC I don’t understand at all. I need help...
