10 meter Radio Suggestions

I'm having problems with my 10 meter radio an RCI 2990. It works fine on SSB but squeals real bad on AM. The more you turn up the power the more she squeals. Any suggestions on another good radio I might try? I'm looking for something brand new this time so I know no golden screwdrivers have...
