Check the main board for 12 volts, if you find it try to follow it and look for cracked traces. Some of these would crack very easly even when new. If the main board is dead its back to the power supply and pass tranistor. Bub73

Check the on/off swicth and the PA swicth first, it maybe stuck in the PA mode shutting off everything but the pa speaker. Bub73

Thanks for the reply; The voltage regulators seem ok and every thing runs cool . I don't know what voltages I should be seeing on the IC's etc. Not much info for the 3010 on the net. Thank's Bub73

Anyone with a voltage chart for a Emperor 3010. I have one with no transmit in any mode. receive seems ok but no S meter bar graph and the PA works fine also.......... Bub73

The center pin of the clarifirer is the one hooked to the wiper of the pot. It should be easy to find by using your volt meter while turning the clarifirer the voltage should vary; one pin should be high B+ voltage and the other near ground. Bub73

The Black wire goes to the little ground strip that joins the two trimmer caps on the expo, the other end goes to the radios foil ground. Hope this helps Bub73

RCI 2970 with a loud rushing noise when dead keyed and the mic gain off, like you would expect with a power mike turned full up . Also VR12 and VR16 ALC hilow seen to have no effect on the noise or power. The power seems OK and audio is good in all modes, the mod limiter is intact and VR13...

Rubber Ducky antennas ; anyone check the swr on one these on the MURS freq's. I found 3 different antennas with over 3 to 1 swr. I believe they are tuned for 144 - 148 meg . This would realy handicap a HT on MURS I think. Anyone got any Ideas on how to tune one? Bub73 </p>Edited by: <A...
