My First HT: VX-8DR vs ID-51 vs TH-D72

Have Yae and Ken. Can't get much more thorough than Moleculo's post. The 8 is the do-everything: transmit, APRS, wide RX, BC, small, durable, etc. Just a great overall radio. Def learning curve. Got the Ken for APRS and as a backup. Have the D710 for mobile, so familiar w features. Great...

Gonna regret asking this since its right in my face but, to be absolutely positive: even w the mod, there's no way to scan the 480s on the 51, right?
