YouTube - 338 Show.wmv‏
i finally got around to building/installing this in my 06 ford diesel !!
It worked like a charm !!!
I can actually talk on the radio again with out tha all to familiar "where's the lawn mower" response I have grown accustomed to hearing !
thanks for the info
definitely gona give this a try .
I drive a 06 F250 powerstoke ..
with radio wired into the fuse panel i get a very loud "buzz" in the TX .. to the point that some thought i was in close proximity to lawn mower ! LOL
rewired strait to the battery with some success , but still a slight...
Yup .. But our street view is a few years old. I dont know when they will update it
the "satellite" view was updated this year.
You could not see the antenna in the old "satellite" view .. to say the least it was a surprise to see it so clearly
Its all good , some folks find the need to nick pick everything
That's cool , may be an administrator can change the title to "M107 seen from Goggle Earth"
In the mean time I will continue to post up my radio related posts & pictures, and title them as I see fit for those that enjoy to look...
Who said anything about a satellite ??
But ...
Your right this was most likely taken from the belly of an airplane flying between 15,000 feet and 30,000 feet
At that elevation i would consider the area a rather large "space"
in computer modeling the director lengths worked out well
the driven and reflector elements will have to be adjusted
spacing was also adjusted some .. Boom length is factory for the M107
if it works as good as the factory M107 with a little better band W , i'll be happy
i wanted something different and like playing around with stuff
The M107 is very narrow banded . when tuned per the instructions you don't have to get very far from center frequency to see an unacceptable match.
I am hoping the change with the larger diameter element will broaden the...
i thought i would share my new project with the antenna gurus hear
this is my insulated split driven element for my M107
all the hardware and tubing comes from DX engineering , i got the 1/2" Teflon from ebay , and the tubing ends came from Charger.
I plan on direct feeding this element , but...
some ideas for someone trying a multi alternator install
all aluminum brackets cut in a 9" band saw from HomeDepot
this will fit 4 large case leece's and the stock alt
I had planned on running a Omni above my flat M107 for the local stuff ,,
But the more I think about it ... it would be nice to have a little more GIT OUT on the vertical side.
What do you antenna gurus think about my plan to add 3 vertical elements to my M107
I will have the antenna...
Yup.. thats it.. same style I plan to use.
i have some 3/8 aluminum tubing i want to use for the match.... because i have the little black rubber end caps for it !!!
i'm all about the details... some say its OCD
Thanks ...
Wavrider / Jay .... any advise on the diameter of tubing for the match itself ???
i have available all sizes both stainless and aluminium ... just wondering if it will make an difference.
I'm sure it will play a role in the final tuned dimensions of the antenna
thanks again
