Has anyone had any success using the Chameleon or Alpha antennas on 40, 60 or 80 meters? Ed KG5UN

I will keep you in mind. I am not much of a tech at all so wont go too far with it anyway. I also have a couple of modified TRC-449's with the deal, havent done much with them yet, one is pretty ill, the other has some hope maybe.

Picked up a rough looking Palomar 2400 at a garage sale today. Powers up, decent power out. Here is the problem: On bands A and B it is on 28.135, no matter where the channel knob is, freq doesnt change. Bands C and D is on 28.585. Bands E and F are on 29.035 Any ideas as to what the...

Has anyone done a comparison of these radios in the 225-400 mhz AM Aircraft band? I am extremely disapointed with the VX-3R, it cant hear staions on 257.675 or 282.3 at all, even with an outdoor antenna, my R-5 and my TH-F6A hear them indoors on a flexible antenna. Ed

My first kit was the old Science Fair shortwave from Radio Shack back in the late 70's it was great. My last was the Tentec 1254 and I have to say it was awesome, I would love to build another for the experience as well as having a decent extra receiver in the shack.
