    11 meter is very quiet?

I haven't heard much skip from the East lately, most of the skip is from SoCal, Arizona, New Mexico and the Canadians. Last evening I talked with a guy from Australia. I used a Kenwood TS-430S with a Sigma Venom 1/2 wave antenna.

    Restoring a Kenwood TS-430S

Have you check Q19 & Q20 on the RF board? Q20 is the per-driver. The RF signal is sent to the Final PA deck via Q19 & Q20 via the T/R relay into the Filter Board. The Filter Board has a number of relays and depending on the band you have selected will depend on which relay is active.

The higher the frequency the more pronounced and quicker the damage can occure even at relative low...

    Mobile Coax

Noise in a radio is a common problem due to the band CBs operate in, the lower you go in frequency the more noise you receive. Your problem maybe coming in through the antenna or simply coming in through the receiver frontend. These can be over come by crystal filters but that can get expensive...

    Best Mobile Coax

You really don't need to worry about the line loss unless your are running your line a couple hundred feet. Line loss for RG-58 isn't that much at 10 or 20 feet. Seeing how coax line is an unbalanced line the lenght isn't that important if it is terminated correctly. If you are using coax line...
