    AT-5555N (Early Version)

I've had a AT-5555N for about 4 years or so. After a period of no use, I finally hooked it back up to find it has no modulation or power output on USB/LSB and the receive is muted on USB/LSB also. AM/FM still work great (lots of modulation and output power). I've tried the "Reset" in the menu...

    Broadbanding Vintage 23 channel rigs....

Nobody remembers any broadband mods for these old chassis? Cobra 138A? Midland SSB? (Same chassis), SBE Console II's ? KRACO ?? Radio works great but a very narrow operating range I'd like to EXPAND as to not lose RX and TX so fast. Thanks for any input you can provide. I've come up empty...

    Broadbanding Vintage 23 channel rigs....

Recently I've been integrating DDS VFO's into vintage, (early-mid 70's), 23 channel SSB radios with great results. The last remaining issue I'd like to make "better" is to broadband the radio to operate in a "wider" bandwidth than they will now. (Pretty narrow operating range) Currently...

Value of a few CB's (older models)

I've bought several 23 ch SSB units recently on Ebay as I have a way to add Digital VFO's to them so the frequency coverage is infinite, (within the band width of the radio anyway). I've paid as little as 15.00 shipped to 30.00 plus another 15.00 for shipping. All depends on the condition of...

Okay need info regarding changing bulbs out to LED's in Midland 79-290

I've got the same radio. Most components are surface mount, so I'm assuming the LED's are as well. You'll have to look at them and get some that are blue to replace them if you want to change the color. Most likely a mod that will require an eyepiece to see what you are doing ! !

    Mod ID

Looks like all three legs are soldered to the same place...... My guess: Manufacturing "Rut Rho" which had no affect on performance you it came to you !

    Ground for PT99

As for grounding: I sink a 8ft ground rod in the ground next to the mast and use bare copper wire, (grounding wire available at Lowes, Home Depot, or your favorite hardware store), using grounding clamps. With that being said, I have run the antenna's BEFORE connecting the ground, (Lack of...

    SBE Console 2

Picked up an old, (Mfg'd in 1976), SBE Console 2. Nice old radio....must have been a desk queen. Anyway, was working well and all the sudden stopped transmitting in AM/SSB. RX is very weak and meter is dead. I recapped it already, so that's out of the equation. I tried a new final...

Uniden 980 SSB - Ranger SRA-117A echo mic

Companies have become extremely evasive when it comes to technical information on their products. Like you, I am tending to avoid these types of companies that "lock up" all technical information like schematics, etc. When I buy a product I am not only buying the product, but expect the...

I have some 8950 Tubes for sale

I wish I would have known this. Two weeks ago I converted my Siltronix 1011C over to use 6LB6's. They seem to work well, but if I could have found a stash of good 8950's I would have kept using them. Oh well.......
