Thanks for the replies fellas, but I mentioned Icom and Yaesu quality. Water resistance and durability is important in my quality requirements.

Looking for a good Dual Band HT 2M/440. Needs to be good quality. Looking at Icom T-70 and Yaesu FT-60 but wondering what you would recommend. Is there anything with the durability/cost of these units in a dual watch? Anyone with a T-70 or Ft-60 who could offer a quick review?

Interesting. Mine is a Performer 5000 but compared side by side the Wilson stinger is thicker and stiffer. I actually prefer the more flexy whip because my truck is pretty tall and flex means no damage when the occasional tree limb gets wacked.

Don't know what to say. I can only post about my experience. Maybe something changed. Is your Wilson a 5000 or a 1000?

Yep, difference between 1.3:1 and 1.2:1 is so slight as to never matter in the real world.

My stinger on my Wilson 5000 is much thicker and stiffer than the stinger on my Sirio P5000. It did have the black cap and my antenna came with the scratch off thing direct from DNJ.

I am not sure if it is happening while just driving. It does hit some tree branches sometimes. My point however is that it shouldn't move if tightened, period. It is an adjustment for when the owner decides, not a self governing safety. The whip is very flexible and I certainly have not hit...
