So, it does not matter how long the wire is to use on all the frequencies with the FRG-7? Seen on flea-bay a long wire end fed with a 9.1 balm with 80' wire...... is 80' wire really necessary?

Well, I found one.... with the fine tuning, and in good shape too! NOW, I'm getting ready to have the radio gone thru and check everything.... I might have the wheat size bulbs replace either with new ones or LED's. Replace the capacitors for sure...... should I do/check anything else to make...

Hey everyone...... Does anybody here have a FRG-7 receiver? If so what antenna is/was worked well for you?? I have picked up a FRG-7 receiver for a good price and was wondering what's a good outside antenna that would work good with this radio? Dipole maybe??? Thanks for any suggestions.

Hey everyone..... Been looking at ICOM SM-30 Desktop Microphones and just wondering if anyone has one and used them and how it works for ya! Going to use it on my Optima MK3 that is set up as a base, so would this be wired correctly to use...... they say the Optima is wire like the ICOM radios...

Yep, there is only one way to plug in the power cord..... didn't think much about it. Plug it in and hook it up to power didn't even turn it on ... then the pop and then smoke. After looking into it further this what I found! Knowing there is only one way to plug this in I didn't think of...

Jeez, if I didn't have any bad luck, I won't have any luck at all!!! Well, ordered my Optima MK3 and it arrived today, now the bad news. The power cable was defective and when it was hooked up to power there was a POP and then the smoke rolled out! This is not good..... Well got a hold of Mike...
