Ding Dong the code is dead, the code is dead.
Get them tickets boys and head for 80 meters. :) Don't mind the Indian's long the way.
Good luck to all who are advancing into HF and beyond.

Take a look at US Towers T tilt base. Good and strong with minimum steel. You could design one simular and have a welder put it together for you.
See it here. This tower weighs about 700 pounds plus the antennas.

I had high hopes for my AR-270B but it just doesn't seem to do the job it should. It may be broken inside or have some water in it, I'll have to disassemble it and check it out someday.

I'll be in there on 50.125 with a 5 element homebrew and FM simplex in the mobil listen up for FN-10
QRN what type of feed are you using on your homebrew 6 element?

Hay 2M Guy is that a J-Pole in the background?
Good coax is the key for a good 2 meter or 440 antenna setup. You would be amazed with the differance in receive.
I use a old Cushcraft AR-270 ground plane its about 20' long at about 70 feet. I'm not impressed with it at all. Its gotta go ...
The 80 meter rotatable dipole has to be shortened by loading coils which will be less efficient than a full sized dipole. Being rotatable will help get you out of the nulls or dead spots that a flat dipole has but a inverted v has a fairly good omni pattern as long as its up high enough and the...
I've been reading up on the extended double zepp antenna and have been wanting to try one out for the HF bands.
Has anybody had any luck with these?
They seem to have a advantage over the 1/2 wave dipole but mostly limited to one band.
Thanks

That's a good question, I would think you would get interaction between the two antennas, but a quad? not sure about that. This should be an interesting post.

One big benefit of having a beam is having side and back rejection and the ability to block out unwanted bleed or noise, with a ground plane antenna you get signals and noise from all sides and your stuck with it.
Money wise a new two element quad and a small rotor would run a few bucks but...
I have a Mosley PRO 67B at 60 feet The antenna does everything exactly as Mosley said it would, the SWR curves are right on for every band. The antenna handles 6 bands and works very well on each. It is built very we'll and only weighs 100lbs :) Two thumbs up here.
I don't know anything about...
Radio Shack is trying to stay alive by moving into the newer high tech gadgets shame.
Try the push up and see it might be ok if you mount it solid like that.
