Gotta agree! I had an Icom 735 for 27 years....used it EVERY DAY just about... just sold it a year ago, and almost sad I did. Definitely the best field day and camp/RV rig I ever had. Had that sucker mounted in the overhead console of my 17' RV for 10 years, never took it out until four years...

Mean wells do seem to have better longevity, but they too will degrade. ANY of the switching supplies of that type will degrade over time. The quality of the components, along with minimal design standards just can't hold up.

True enough!!....They are great at first, but....especially if used A LOT they will degrade and act like all the others...
