I read that around the forums..thks! its not totally fixed, the RF driver and that MRF477 ate toasted, but going to figure out if I can use the driver and final from another radio..it seems the the MRF477 has a wierd pinout..

    Emperor TS5010 flashing display

Yea! fixed! it was a loose metal clip on one of wires from the encoder to the PLL board harness..Sadly though, the RF driver and final are internally open..well, was a nice exercise.. Can you see this and tell me if i did this right?

so far I dont see a TX symbol on the display..Im watching the amp current usage on my ps and its always at 0.450 amp on receive, so it seems on point with the service manual..I have a Yeasu radio also tuned on it and never sees a TX signal

I swapped the PLL boards, it was the the same thing..before this, the radios worked perfect on RX..the reason i swapped is that one of the radios does not have the MRF final, the other one does have it..Im not so into I want a transmitting radio, just a

I have 2 5010s..both of them have their displays flashing..I know most people will say PLL unlock issues but heres the thing..When I turn on any of the 2 radios, it will blink at 28.000..I cant change frecuency with the dial nor with the up and down buttons..But if I push the PA button on, I can...

    HTX-10 pll problem?

Upon studying the cpu, I not having any signal on the VCO input pin..which I think and as Nomad suggested, 1 signal has to go in to be compared and internally mixed with the internal 4.5MhZ signal to produce a 16.2× Mhz sig for the charge pump?

    HTX-10 pll problem?

Sorry for the late response..and thnks..TP3 is at 7.38 volts and turning the T14 slug doesnt have any effect on voltage change..I can turn the slug and I do hear several signals from 11M to 10M..I attached my TinySa on low output mode at 28.00MhZ AM modulation at -30dB at the antenna port and I...

thks! crash coursed the osc..so this what I get.. I have a 10.24ish signal on the XC1, seems it has a nice waveform.. I have 4.5 on Pin 1, but I not sure about the waveform..But I have no signal at the MFC1 10.695 big metal box. I did find a chipped I believe its a cap near the L6 can..but the...

    HTX-10 pll problem?

I did insert 4 to 6.5v on TP3 with a variable ps.. got great 10M signals at the speaker, thanks for SSB contest..also hooked up a TinySa on RF generator mode and the radio pickup a strong AM turning the L14 slug..10.240 crystal is strong and the 4.5 signal at pll pin 1 also

    TRC-451 dead no RX

Good morning..yup, that worked, the VCO trick so far..SuperBowl as loud as ever and even upper 11M..I had to input at TP2, injection at pin 17 didnt see any effect..right now, TP2 is at 2.81Vdc..going to try the TinySA trick now..

    TRC-451 dead no RX

yes, Im inclined to believe the pll is shot..upto now I can assume the VCO circuit is working if the 16MhZ signal can be manipulated turning the L14 slug, right.. So just for kicks, can I use a variable ps, disengage pll pin 22 and inject 2.4 to 4 volts to the VCO at TP2? or how about injecting...
