Pez could you do a low dead key test? Maybe a 2 watt dead key showing PEP and average swing with NPC on and off.

I have been told an AT-5555Nii or AT-6666 is too much radio because of the number of finals but I believe from a 2 watt deadkey the swing will also be lowered to around 15 to 16 watts. Why would that be too much for a 2 transistor amp?

Just added a spring on my current toolbox setup the whip is feed with new rg58 from last radio my SWR was 1.4 on channel 1 and 1.2 on channel 40. Would it be worth buying a new mount and moving to a rear stake hole?

I think I will try the spring should I put a jumper from to to bottom or just use it as is? Never did the tennis ball have black plastic hose down low where it would hit the tool box.

Got the new antenna today swr was slightly better but still not good the whip was much shorter had 1.1 on 40 and 2.2 on 1. with stinger all the way down I trimmed about 1/8: off swr seemed to go up slightly across the band. It was getting dark so I gave up for the day.

5 without the amp stinger fully down 4.5 with no amp stinger extended I did receive a call from Skipshooter today they are sending me a new one with more adjustment.

meter is good for 200 watts skipshooter rated for 5000 watts I zeroed the meter for the frequency didn't have to change for power level. I was ablet to get the tram to 1.3 across the board fairly quickly tram says 1.3 is the best that antenna will do
