Pic Of The Day / Unimatrics Stingray 11, 23ch "Marine" Grade CB - FB Marketplace

I worked at a big Marine HF-SSB dealer and was a service technician all through the 80's and 90's and also was a factory field tech for CAI Radio Co. So I remember the Raytheon/ JRC SSB's very well. Though they never sold well in the U.S. when badged as JRC, the Raytheon badged SSB's were...

    Sams PhotoFacts Collection

Thanks Dan! I love my Com Phone and have even done some frequency mods to get some extra channels out of the PLL. Still need to add the ones to give me 24-40 and the lower channels. I wanted to tune it up as I noticed it is getting low on output and the modulation is not what it used to be...

Pic Of The Day / Unimatrics Stingray 11, 23ch "Marine" Grade CB - FB Marketplace

Unimetrics sold a lot of Marine oriented CB's back in the day, but I don't think I have ever seen one with SSB before, that is rare for a marine CB. Unimetrics also made a number of matching CB and VHF radios with the same color schemes and shape. My favorite was their short lived "Dolphone"...

A really old school modded Tram Diamond 60

You are right, I had forgotten how good these old Trams are on SSB, they are so much nicer than I remembered! I got England and Australia yesterday with a little 50w Palomar on it, and a horizontal dipole. Both guys gave me excellent signal reports! Do you happen to know which adjustment...

A really old school modded Tram Diamond 60

Thought you guys might enjoy seeing this old road warrior of a Tram Diamond 60. Has mod to slide up as high as 27.555. The external slider and mods were done by a really skilled local tech, back in the day. He built quite a few of them like this one. Amazingly this thing still works perfectly...

Realistic Trc-456 reducing power output or variable dead key mod?

Thanks for the time an effort to help me out! It sounds like this is what I need now to get this old radio doing what I want it to do! I appreciate your time and effort. If I am happy with the results, I am going to probably do a PLL mod to add some lower channels and maybe look at...

Realistic Trc-456 reducing power output or variable dead key mod?

Thanks, I will have a look inside, that sounds like a very simple mod to execute and get some use out the Delta Tune knob! I think I have a mini-schematic in the owners manual that came with the radio, have to dig it out and have a look. I appreciate the detailed description of the mod.

Realistic Trc-456 reducing power output or variable dead key mod?

Thanks, I had a medical issue in the family so I just had a chance to get back on here. I need to open my radio up I guess and see if there is a decent place to put a module. I would be fine with the mini-pot inside, as it will be set up for just one amp in one vehicle, and left there. I...

Looking for tune up info for Pearce Simpson Tomcat 23 (not B model) also sold as the GM 23 CB

I have a Pearce Simpson Tomcat 23 which was sold also as a GM 23 mobile cb, and I cannot find any tune up data for it. Just need the usual stuff for modulation and peaking the final. I can find the Tomcat 23B but I need just the plain Tomcat 23. Thanks in advance!

Realistic Trc-456 reducing power output or variable dead key mod?

I guess if I mark L903, and keep count of how many turns, I can always put it back if it doesn't work.

Realistic Trc-456 reducing power output or variable dead key mod?

I have a mint Realistic "Cb Phone" Trc-456 that puts out a full 4+ watts of power on TX, which is great barefoot, but it does not play well with my amps (negative swing bigtime). I wondered if anyone knows if you can turn down the TX power by adjusting L903 or will this mess with the...

Old school automatic Am/Fm/CB retractable antennas?

That may be an option also, with a longer telescoping whip it might not be a terrible performer? I had forgotten that Rat Shack used to sell a non-telescoping 4 ft antenna for AM/FM and CB to use on boats, with a splitter box like that attached. I just found one that I had mounted in my boat...

Old school automatic Am/Fm/CB retractable antennas?

Thanks, that is the sort of info I am looking for! I want to put an new old stock telephone style cb (Lafayette Com-Phone 23A with extra channels I just finished) in an old London Taxi I own, to look like it has an old IMTS style telephone system in it. I didn't want to put a regular whip...

Old school automatic Am/Fm/CB retractable antennas?

Did anyone make a decent performing Am/FM/CB motorized telescoping antenna years ago? I remember they were popular on Cadillac's and Lincolns back in the 70's, especially with the in dash radios that did am/fm and cb all in one radio. I don't recall ever hearing that any were particularly good...

Looking for and SBE LCM-8P CB (the one that looks like a carphone)

Just wondered if anyone had a SBE Land Command LCM-8P CB they want to sell? I'm looking to replace the original one that got smashed in an old truck I'm rebuilding.
