I used the link and a few other of Andy's post for reference

Ran a couple experiments on this chassis. After a tune up, I did the NPC with the resistor value being determined by using a 1k pot to find the value at...
Not worth the effort, the change is so minute its barely noticeable. This has been discussed before a lot. One of those recurring topics that happen every new wave of people. 4558's purpose is to take mic level audio to line level for the modulator section
The audio generator is tube and finnicky when you first engage it but settles out a second later, thanks for taking a screen shot before it settles ,Mike next time I'll post a snap shot to satisfy your curiosity. (sigh)
Been wanting to do a before and after for a while now. Did the NPC to the radio adjusted the resistor for 90-100% negative modulation and limiter in tact. Audio generator was kept the same through the videos till the last video. Second video was taken with R171 removed (limiter circuit). Last...
I know of a few places selling copies of the SP1a. Lou Franklins CB Int speech compressor is totally different animal. Sp1a contains a compander and CB Int is a series of opamp stages with a feedback loop setup like a clipper. I have both and choose he SP1a for how clean it sounds.
Already saw that but didn’t have a clue to the color coding and mine didn’t have the stereo jack , just had wires sticking out on both ends. In the end it did not work so I gotta try to troubleshoot it when I get time. Also used the copy cat instructions
The way your post came across I though you were an engineer looking for a feature request. I’ve done a few audio mods and like this radio with the exception of AGC
Values were different but nice to know the diode make up. Forward voltage is 0.255v and forward bias was 82k reverse bias 19M. Added a switch to bypass.
