my guess would be to check the shield (ground) wire in the mic or cord to radio

I would start by checking for bad solder joint or another thing to look at is the crystals. I had one that started doing that then slowly got worse turn out to be a bad crystal alot of galaxy's will drift unless you realign it with a scope.
