I still challenge anyone to prove me wrong. Buy a General Lee from Sparky and find a cut trace. Don't believe me, put your $$$ where you mouth is. Does Al go out of his way for customers? Yes. Does he give us all good prices? Yes.
My ONLY gripe with Al is the shadiness of cutting a trace on...
He does decent work but what can you expect from a "FREE" tune?
Yes, he tunes/aligns the radios pretty well but he does not install any kind of NPC-RC mod like most (all) other shops. Sparky pushes the Top Gun mods, gee I wonder why?!?!? Maybe because he gets the profit from selling them and...
I can ABSOLUTELY FREAKING GUARANTEE that Sparky's CB Shack removes limiters in the AMC circuit. Purchase a General Lee from him and pop the warranty seal off of it, there will be a cut trace on the board. Don't believe me? Put your money where your mouth is and attempt to prove me wrong!
I...
I have a few 1969 finals I could part with for cheap. I know for a fact that one works and the other 2-3 should work as they are in radios that did work before I started pulling parts out of them and they turned into parts radios.
Cheap meter and/or excessive modulation.
My vote goes to excessive modulation. 7 watts swinging 130.... Yeah, ok.... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. I bet that sounds super-truckerish.
(Let the leg humpers emerge and tar and feather me...:tt2:)
Just get a RM KL203 amp and velcro the thing to your radio. 100-130 watts and much more reliable plus you can use it with other radios. Plus, you get a REAL deadkey of 20-30, not this 5-8 bullsnot.
I had a SuperStar SS-3900 Turbo ZX which was a glorified Galaxy 88. The 3900 was DRIFT FREE. It had a slight warm up period 5-10 minutes but was solid as a rock after that. I know a guy with a 77 and it drifts like a sail boat, but his tech is a hack also. Mine was touched by the hands of God. I...
Does the "my box is better" attitude come with the over price Davemade products or does it cost extra?
Also, so by adding a second battery and grounding everything, I can avoid splattering? Care to explain the RF theory behind that one?????? Class C is Class C is Class C. Dave/Joe-Made...
I will say it then. AM exports have cut traces on their limiters, AM cb's have diodes removed. I have had several good transactions with Al in the past. However, I have been reading several posts of AM/SSB radios coming out of his shop that are off frequency and having problems. Al is a good guy...
The loudest radio? The one with the most limiters cut out of it.
Face it, ANY "loud" export that has in your face audio, has at least one limiter removed (TR32, TR57, R249, R246 in the common 3600 board). Then, you hang a 1N4001 diode off the back or in series with the resistor for the swing...
