Will dofellers. I put a 5 amp in it, but haven't pushed it yet. I will upgrade to a 7.5. Just concerned...I know the fuse is there for a reason, 2 amp just seemed small. Now to figure out how the rest of it work. I got me an OLD meter made out of 2 potatoes and a straw. Will check and see how it...
Just received my new 2950, peaked and tuned, and am having a fuse problem. It has a 2A fuse inline and blows everytime I increase the mic power output. I have been out of radio for 10 plus years and have to relearn all over again. There will probably be more questions to follow. Ken
I have had a sweet 16 sitting around in the garage for 10+ years. It worked fine when I put it up. My question is should I just plug and play, or should I have it looked at first so as not to burn anything up? I have been meaning to get back into radio for some time, but something keeps coming...
Right on, and thanks. I recently went to a hamm meet down here. There I seen a guy with the same setup I am trying to achieve. I throw some pics up as soon as I get it done.
Pics and run down of goodies please. It is highly possible this one could be in my price range. Incidentally, I PM'd you, your email did not work for me. Later Ken
I haven't installed mine yet. I am a little aprehensive about it. Would you mind telling me exactly how you did it? What type of truck is it in? What upgrades to your charging systems were made? Basically the more info, the better as I have never run somuch power before. Thanks in advance, Ken
Wish I would have stayed active. It is frustrating, reading about this stuff, and only having a vague recollection of what people are talking about. I hate having to ask for pics and clarification about something I used to be familiar with. Oh well, guess my swing will come back eventually and...
I'd like to see your setup. Forgive my stupid question, but what is a mast. Can they be bought seperate and added on to extend the highth of the antenna?
Problem with putting it on the roof is there is a sunroof up there. I don't particularly like drillin a hole in the top either. Is there a pic here on the site about the bonding idea. I was considering mounting to the cap and grounding the mounting point. Your direction has helped me along with...
DOH! :D Where are you Fl native. I live in Odessa.
Drill a hole??? I can't do it. It is my first new truck after driving beaters for a long time. Bumper....? I considered it, but I have a plastic top on the bumper that would need to be cut away, and wouldn't I be directional with a rear LOW mount?
In my opinion, too much is the amount used incorrectly. You can have all the power in the world, but if you use it just to turn on the neighbors toaster, come on. I look at power as a regulation devise. I do not use it to hear my self talk. If a few of us are trying to talk, and there is a...
I figured as much. By the way, I was editing while you were dropping a post. What do you recommend? Should I bite the bullet and figure out a way to fab. a mount?
Can a magnetically mounted antenna handle the power from a dx 1600 amp. (sweet 16). Reason I ask is my truck has a lid on the bed, and fabricating a mount will be a pain in the rear. This is what I have
I have a predator antenna I wish to use, but it is going to be difficult, unless I can...
