Ok given up on mag mount. Gonna mount my 102 whip on bed of truck. right behinb the cab. Bed has spayin liner do I need to grind it off where i put the mount so i get a good ground?
I have a whip mounted off of the top edge of my box. I too have a sprayed in bedliner. I bonded the box to the frame and then bonded the mount to the box via through the pocket hole. All the boxliner is still there. It was more than abit of a pain in the a$$ but I think worth it.
Back when I had a pickup, I mounted it like you are talking about.
Make sure you have good metal contact with the mount and that the bed is grounded. Some PU beds have rubber insulators. If your does, then bonding to the frame will be needed.
Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
