After weeks of nothingness the band has really come alive here in the last couple days.. Lots of very short skip to Alberta, Saskatchewan, Oregon etc. Also Hawaii and Australia are back in the evening hours.
I've got my vintage gear set up..... Cobra 148GTL side-mic, Turner CS-1 desk mic, A/B biased Palomar 200 amp. Making lots of contacts on 37 and 38 all day long!

Jeff I've been hearing your neck of the woods in and out here all day today.... Fresno, Merced, High-sierra's, Yosemite, Tahoe etc etc...... maybe I'll catch you on the air at some point!
I want to echo what BC Coyote said in his posts. DX to S. America was strong from 3:30 to 5pm when I shut down. Again, everybody I talked with said that I was the only station they could hear. But on my end it was an endless pileup of stations callling me. I made 13 contacts: Louisanna, Texas, Georgia, Carolinas (both),Florida. Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. When I get my big amp back online, maybe some stations further North can hear me. 73

Well boys I'm finally back on the air with a new sirio 2016 so I'm stoked. Conditions suck here but called anyway and made a couple of quick contacts to confirm that I'm back in business.

I got home early today and got a nice surprise when I turned the radio on. Conditions were pretty decent from 3:00 to 5:00 in my receive. I had some good qsos from Missouri, Chicago, Jamaica X3, Iowa and Colorado. You just never know when conditions will be in your favor.
I'm liking the Sirio Gain Master. I haven't had the opportunity to use it much since I bought it. We've had some decent winds and nothing has snapped yet. So that's good. lol...

I'm out on my boat at Dry Tortugas National Park. This park is set of islands 70 miles out in the middle of the ocean. I've got my SSB walkie talkie and a marine CB antenna, so I'm going to be giving some call outs this afternoon on USB 40.
