11 meter is very quiet?

The thunder and the rain pounding down woke me up at 4:30 this morning. So hopefully we'll get the rain out of the way early today and I can enjoy some radioin' later on. Hopefully.
My QT80 was delivered yesterday, so I'll get it on the bench and start installing the mods and the fans I have waiting. After being off air for a month and a half, I'm really enjoying DXing again.

Got a chance to set in my Cobalt just before 3 PM and listen to 36 - 40 LSB and heard some clear as a bell DX coming out of my Q6 Pro but unfortunately I couldn't reach out and touch someone. But I was pleased with what was coming out of that radio. Makes a man get excited about what is to come !

Amazing conditions up here this afternoon. I had the radio on 555 USB for just over an hour around 4pm PST while I was working in the shop and along with tons of US and Canadian stations I heard South Africa, including a mobile in Johannesburg, Phillipines, Indonesia, Martinique, Jamaica, Venezuela, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and the Azores Islands. Not bad for a one hour stretch!!

All day long without pause on 38 meanwhile.......1111111111111111111111. Ugh.

I got home about 5:30 cst, fired up the station to find phenomenon conditions. I made so many contacts continually for an hour and a half one after another. I finally had to let the radio and amp cool off because you could fry an egg on the heatsink. I got carried away like a fat kid eating cake :ROFLMAO:

Conditions haven't been that great here since late winter before it fell out.

Crazy good conditions in South Texas yesterday. I heard a couple of Brazil stations the same time I was hearing South Pacific stations.
Codeman -
What's your QTH and what frequency were you using. I talked to several Texas stations yesterday on 27.375 LSB. Gimme a try: unit399 - Medellin Colombia South America.

This morning from about 10 to noon conditions were great again with contacts all over the place. Right before noon propagation must have went on lunch break because the receiver went to complete static. Nothing at all now but I'll be monitoring throughout the day.
Exact same story here! When I got up at 8 it was booming. Had breakfast and went back out to the shop at 9:30 and crickets.........dang!

It has been pretty quiet this early afternoon. Not much going on with LSB 38, but that 1-1-1-1... dummy keeps popping up.

I'm hearing very little activity on LSB 37. The usual activity on LSB 39 and LSB 36 is just not there.

It is a very tame day for 11 meter DX.
