I've talked to one of your neighbors a couple times lately! Unit 68 Amarillo.... also heard another Amarillo station yesterday. Hope to catch you soon! I'm usually on either 36LSB, 26805FM, or the triple nickle.

I've never heard 68 and I know just about all the locals (over the air not un person). We have 806, 418, 118, RG790 and myself, all have big signals. I spent some time this morning but all the other guys are retired so they spend all day every day.

Hopefully the timing is right one of these days.

What's your call sign? I'll listen for you.

Unit 68 was who I talked with last night on 38lsb from here around San Antonio. I was hoping to hear 828! It is not very often I hear from that part of Texas. The shortest in state skip talk I have made was to Dallas.

I bet he's out of town somewhere. I think a lot of operators just give the closest location that somebody might have heard of when calling DX, which might be a large city 100 miles away. I often hear people say Dallas, or Chicago, or Detroit or whatever but once you get talking you find out they're 50 or 70 or 100 miles out of the city in some little town.

Yesterday sounded like a bee hive on the air but I've been real busy with finish some remodel and clean up projects on my house plus my neighbor was home anyway. But the solar site says Good today for 10-12 meter so maybe I can squeeze in some air time today but when it's real good I think I get covered up by the Big Boys.

Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
