142GTL radio question


You'd have to look inside to see. The 142GTL can be "frequency expanded" by adding various switches to the PLL chip pins. Do a google search for 142GTL Channel Expansion mods and you will probably find the info.

Other than that, depending on who owned the radio, it could be switches for roger beeps, and other "noise" toys too... But I would say most likely, channel expansion. Cobra 142GTL is a fantastic 11 meter base station... I would not sell mine for anything.
 
Nice looking radio. I hope whoever got it made a "best offer". $200 with a stock mic is a bit much. But I love mine and would not sell it for $200.(y)

I'd say the group of 4 is for extra channels and a 10kc mod, the other one is for the Flux Capacitor. Be careful, if you go over channel 87 it'll open a worm hole and you'll be transported to another dimension! :w00t:
