Andy a old school tech told me do not adjust bias with volts ever (0.5 v - 0.65 v)the parts are old and always draw a lot current, do it ma is more save .
And that would be fine, I was only showing a better method that works for those that can't seem to get bias correct or have a "Jumpered" Final in the system, then the issue is you can't see the mA draw in SSB mode to get a good or correct reading in mA without looking at voltage feed to the base of the Final.
Setting for mA may go overboard with the jumpered part - and also is why I really strongly urge those that have the older bipolar, upgrade their bias feed line(trace) and re-check (and lower) the mA draw the bias circuit does...
