15 & 17 Meters....

Is, or can SSB Phone used on 15 and/or 17meters? Would like to venture off from 10&11 meter DX and try 15 & 17, and possibly 20 meters. I run an I-10K vertical, and thinking of purchasing an antenna tuner for such operation. Is this efficiently possible, or am I reaching.

SSB is the primary voice mode on 20, 17 and 15 meters. USB that is. On 40 meters and below LSB is the standard.

Although you'll be able to match the radio to the tuner, I doubt your antenna is going to work very well below 11 meters. A simple dipole for the lower bands would be best. If you can't install a fan diople or seperate dipole for each band then cut it for the lowest band (20m) and use a tuner for 15 and 17.

Yeah, I have 10-15-20-40-80 DX-CC dipole in the attic. I guess I should hook it up again.

ditto on the dipole and a tuner....15 and 17 are great bands to play on

Your license class will determine what range of frequencies you are able to use on those bands. What class license do you have?
