I'm contemplating moving my Icom 2300H from the desk to the truck. I already have a CB in it with a 102" whip, looking for an antenna I can bolt on somewhere for 2 meter also. Mag mount on the cab if I have to. The radio is 65 watts and the antenna doesn't need to handle any more than that. What's hot, and what's not? Thanks.

Well
If you can bring yourself to mount it.......
I used to have a Hustler CG 144 on my Buick it's ugly, it's big and it is the highest gain antenna I have ever run on a mobile.
I used a SS Hustler Ball mount center of the trunk.
Everyone thought it was a CB antenna because they are just a hair over 7 feet long.
I could work repeaters all over the valley with that thing.

Oh, and they load up just fine on the tech portion of 10 meters too

I ran a Comet SBB-7 when I first got my ticket. Dual band 2m/440, and it worked really well. But, the plastic cover coils eventually died, and I replaced it with a shorter dual band SBB-5 with the metal coil in it. Very similar to a Larsen 2/70 base load with metal coil, but I prefer the SBB-5 due to the Larsen using a metal tab in the base vs. the Comet having a UHF type screw-on connection. It's a not too big, not too small antenna, and hits all the repeaters in my area easily. With the metal coil, it takes a pretty good beating without getting torn up. Since you're considering roof mount mag mount, it wouldn't be a bad way to go. They may offer a single band one at a cheaper price.
