2510 mic gain

:sad:What might cause a 2510 mic gain not to limit the ssb output. I usually push it in for the lower gain to drive an amp but this radio I just started testing that does nothing. I think it is an attenuator of about 10 db when active.
 

Maybe been modded for max splatter?

Limiting transistor or diode cut or removed.
