Where is the battery ,and what does it look like??? I have an older Mirage RCI 2970 Amber Display can,t find battery

Modulation all static and display keeps changig frequency all the

Are you using the stock mic? If you have a shorted wire in the mic cord, this could cause the noise on tx, and make the radio change channels.

The battery on the older 2950/70 radios is mounted on the board in the face of the radio, and looks like a watch battery, about the size of a nickle. You would have to remove the covers and on the back of front face of the radio , on the back of the cpu board, you will see the battery.

It is less hassle to change if you pull the front cover off and loosen the whole face of the radio, and CAREFULLY tip it forward, it is mounted on top of the little beep module for the buttons.
