50 amp supply swiging backwards on high

Agreed, 15 watts dead key is way too much, like posted above set the dead key at no more than 2 to 2.5 watts and try it there. You are going to kill that thing. I run a magna force 350HD and I use a dead key setting of 2.5 watts swinging to around 60-70. Works good, and the amp never gets warm.

My DK is 2 watts but it does swing to 15 watts modulation. How do you get the 148 to not swing so high with audio, except for turning the dynamic way down? I just replaced the covers on the 148 with diamond plate aluminum and checked a few things on the board and one audio diode is clipped maybe that's why it swings so much. I hesitate to touch anything I get compliments from everyone on the loud and clean audio and can communicate when signals go under 1-S unit because of the hard driving audio.

Have you tried using a volt meter, preferably a good one like a Fluke meter and measure the voltage and amperage with it? Like posted earlier, your power supply may be rated at 50 amps, but that doesn't always mean its a true 50 amps. If you can also lower your dead key to as low as possible and still get the amp to key up, then take readings and write it down. Then increase the dead key value from its lowest setting to what you are using now and more the differences. May be this will help to trouble shoot the issue.
