Not sure why people keep thinking I have lots of fire in the wire. Only amps I have are a 100 watt "10m" amp, an 80 watt 2m amp and a 1200 watt 6m amp. I did however maintain some big stuff in a previous career.

Biggest transmitter I was ever responsible for was a 20kW FM. The cheapskate station owner wouldn't spend the money to replace the meter that showed the driver tube's parameters. A tube failure had plastered the pointer around the right-hand peg. The chief engineer's revised procedure to tune the driver used a 2-foot fluorescent tube and a 15kV glove to hold it in one hand, while turning the driver's tuning controls with the other hand.
Worked just fine.

Story goes that people that lived near WLW's transmitter could listen on barbed wire fence when they had the 500K fired up.
