500W dummy load

Making a dummy load out of spare parts. Used a power supply box with fan from a computer. I got two 250W - 50 ohm resisters. Using 12ga. ground wire, maybe to big? The way I have them I am only getting a 25 ohm reading at the coax connector. How do I need to hook them up to get 50 ohms at the coax connector?

Sounds like you can make a 250W 50 ohm dummy load, or buy 2 more 250W 50 ohm resistors if you want a 1KW dummy load.

With only what you have, I don't think a 500W 50 ohm load is possible.

For 500W 50 Ohm you need 2x 100Ohm resistor or 4x 50Ohm 250W

Make sure any resistor you are using is non-inductive.
