6 Meters is OPEN AGAIN!

2nd day in a row that the Magic Band has come alive here in EM80. Very strong signals on Phone just the way I like them. I'm only using a Hi-Par Saturn Loop & a Diamond V2000a Vertical & 100 watts. Some signals are stronger on the vertical, so I work them on the V2000a & the ICOM 7610 & some are stronger on the loop so I work them on the Saturn on the ICOM 9100. Good to finally hear some signals on the band. Lots of South American stations here yesterday & new grid squares for me. Hopefully it will continue until the New tower is up in a few weeks with the New HF Yagi & the M2 6M5X for 6 meters.

Ark/Neb are tough states for me to work...just don't get many thr. I hr them I can work, just something about that distance, or heading? I am ready for some "double hop" to West Coast and to far NW!!!!

The middle and north parts of the country are tough for me also. Today's Arkansas was my first ever. On any band. 10 states left for WAS, mostly nearby. Indiana is one I need Gary!

I only need Alaska but I have been looking for them since 1994 & I have never heard one KL7 that was actually in Alaska. I have Japan & lots of stations in Europe & Africa & even (4) ZL's but not one Alaska? Even have the Falkland Islands Twice?

Yes all on 6 meters. I have been on 6 meters since 1994 & it's still my Favorite Band. When it's open it really is the MAGIC BAND! ALL of these were on Phone except Japan which was on CW. I can't copy my own call sign now but I did manage the QSO with the JA station on the Magic Band. (1) ZL was also on CW. I Hate CW & FT8 & FT4. If I can't do it on Phone I will not make the contact. It's not that important to me.

You sound like me. DX Is KING for me. I worked Z68TT on 17 & 20 Yesterday & looking for them on 10,12, & 15 now. The 1st two were not that hard. 6 Meters is still my Favorite Band & 17 Meters for HF. I love working a RARE one on The Magic Band & I got a couple of New ones a couple of days ago in South America on the Hi-Par Saturn at 20' with just 100 watts. I now have 293 Entities, so they are Tough to find a New one these days & the Z68TT was a New one for me.
