70cm simplex freq

I am programing my Kenwood TK-840 and would like to know what bracket of freq from what to what would be right for simplex only operation. I don't want to interfere with other operations like satellite and or repeaters..
And don't want to make it to over complicated and input more freq then I need to.
I am on "http://www.arrl.org/band-plan" and there is no defined simplex bracket of freq like there is on 2 meters


432.10 to 432.30 / 432.40 to 433.00 in 25 kHz steps? I also see 446.000 to 446.875

Move 10kc off the calling freq and you would be fine. I have never heard anyone on 70cm simplex.

Ok cool but would you consider the range of 445.125 to 446.875 safe and non interfering ?

Ok thanks.. I may try to talk him in to getting an all mode 2 meter radio, there is more defined boundries on 2 meters..

There's no need to buy more radios and change bands just so someone can tell you what frequency to be on.
The beauty of 70cm is that it's a rather large band with fewer users, that is, less crowded than 2m. My wife and I use 70cm simplex a lot. I also use it as a link to my cross-band repeater mobile radio.
There certainly are some band plans around for 70cm. Basically just stay away from satellite and repeater sub bands and you'll be fine.
Band plans are guides to help operators get along. They aren't FCC rules, with a few exceptions. You can operate FM simplex anywhere you want as long as it's not prohibited and that isn't much.

Yeah.....OK. No interference there to users of the repeater is there?
Why not use a regular simplex frequency as 70cm has scads of them available between 445 and 447 MHz. among other frequencies.
