76 power?

What must be done to turn down the power in a uniden 76? Is it even possible? I looked all over trying to find it and no go. If it is possible how low can you get the power? Thanks!!!

Remove the jumper bringing voltage to the driver, and put a resistor in its place, or use the variable power circuit found at www.dtbradio.com/varikey.gif

it is close to the same as a cobra 29 if i am not mistaken

schematically it is basically identical. In fact, the original 76's had the exact same board as the 29's.
